Currently Loving: November 2018 Edition

I have three kids, three years old and younger, including a newborn. I don't get out much. However, I like to share about things that thrill me. So I've decided to do occasional blog posts to give a shout out to things I'm loving.

Letterkenny (On Hulu)

This Canadian sitcom is HILARIOUS. It has the rapid-fire dialogue of Gilmore Girls and the witty one-liners and running gags of Arrested Development, all in a rural setting. I can tell you right now that it won't be everyone's cup of tea but both the husband and I laughed ourselves to tears during most episodes. Not sure if it helped us that we both have friends and family who live in rural areas and we have spent enough time with those people and in those places to appreciate the culture... With the exception of one episode that centered around farts, each and every episode was a gem. If you have a tough time with fast-talking characters with accents, try putting on the subtitles because I think this show is worth it.

My Air Fryer

Some of my besties got an air fryer some time ago and raved about it. I went to their house one night with a bag full of things to test-fry and it was quite a feast of breaded appetizers. They also brought it to our lake house one weekend this past summer. I was pretty impressed but had two concerns: one, did I have space for another large-ish kitchen appliance and two, as I've been very focused on minimalism this year - did I really need to buy something when I already have an oven. When my oldest started preschool for the first time, I decided this was something I needed. She gets out of school at 11:30 and we don't get home until almost noon. To cook a lot of kid foods in the oven (fries, chicken nuggets, mini tacos, etc.) took too long to fit in lunch before a reasonable nap time. Also, cleaning the cookie sheets was annoying. I HAVE NO REGRETS. I have had it for a week now and I use it all the time. It cooks things super fast, it's easy to clean, and it gives stuff a better "crispy but not dried out" texture. My friends rave about using theirs for bacon and reheating pizza. I'm looking forward to using it to reheat buffalo wings since we love those but heated up leftovers are no where close to as good. I think the air fryer would be great for that! Anyway, I do recommend. Especially if you have kids or if your diet includes a lot of jalapeno poppers and mozzarella sticks.

Trader Joe's Cranberry Chevre

Not everyone likes goat cheese. I get that. Personally, I'm into it... BUT, even if you aren't into goat cheese you should try this seasonal variety that Trader Joe's gets every fall/winter. IT IS SO GOOD. It is sweet and tart and creamy and it reminds me of cherry cheesecake. It is really good on a slightly sweet cracker like a stone-ground wheat, whole wheat, or (my favorite) Trader Joe's raisin & rosemary crisps. I love cheese in general, but I really look forward to this one once the seasons change.

$10 Fleece Pants With Pockets

I mean, need I say more? Ten dollars. Fleece. Pants. Pockets. I bought these on Zulily and plan on living in them until Spring. They are comfy AF, the pockets are super handy for whatever random garbage gets handed to me, and they are warm and cozy.
